Pentateuch in 8 weeks

From September in Cord, we will be looking at the Pentateuch, that is, the first five books of the Bible, and while I thought it would be a good idea to find some kind of reading plan- luckily, modern Rabbis already have one, and it’s below- the idea is that you read the relevant passage in the synagogue each week.

I think a good thing to do might be to read a relevant portion of it every day, meaning you’d get it done over about 8 weeks (there are more than 52 sections because the jewish calendar has more than 52 weeks).

Anyway, it’s there if that might be helpful to anyone. Don’t worry about the Hebrew words, they are there because I copied the table from the Wikipedia page and removing them would have been more effort than it was worth. Oh, and if the Leviticus portion bothers you, here’s why it ought not to!

If you are curious, the names of the sections are taken from a Hebrew word or phrase from the start of the section (the same applies to the books: instead of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy, they are called “In the Beginning”, “Names”, “And he Called”, “in the Wilderness”, and “Words” respectively). I particularly like the one called “Go on, yourself!”.
